Marathon Training: Week Three

In Life, Marathon on November 14, 2011 at 4:38 pm

My third week of training ended with a nine mile run on Saturday. It’s intriguing to me that a distance that 2 years ago as a feat the I was challenged to accomplish is now something I find relatively passé. I took about 30 minutes to relish the fact that I had run a pace just above a nine-minute mile, then started to focus on the ten mile run I have scheduled for this coming Saturday. Life moves on, I guess.

On a separate note, our rec football league ended on Sunday. We managed to be ranked first in our division with a 7-0 season, then followed that up with a decisive victory in the first round of the playoffs. Unfortunately, we stumbled in the second round and lost our second game by a touchdown. On the bright side, we won “prize money” for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, and we keep getting better. Maybe next year. My main concern today wound up being whether or not the pain in my foot would go away by tomorrow morning. Things are looking good for now… We’ll see.
